Money Pit Woes

My computer went to pot.

I had a gas leak inside my house that led to a day-long evacuation.

The new house I just closed on two weeks ago is quicky becoming a money pit, with things breaking, not working or simply not being there at all.

True, these aren’t even close to serious problems — I know that. But nonetheless they’ve been stress-inducing and have me waking with some anxiety each day.

But, fear not, none of this is keeping me from getting this newsletter in your inbox — and nothing ever will. I love this Nonsense community, and I love this newsletter.

In fact, I’m reminded that it’s in times such as these when our passion for trading cards, and its ability to give us an escape from the world around us, really becomes clear.

I really do love these little pieces of cardboard — truly

They’ve been the longest relationship in my life, and they’ve been there wirth me on the peaks and in the valley of this journey.

Heck, there are even a few cards left in my collection that were there in the very beginning.

This hobby has introduced me to amazing people, many of whom have become lifelong friends, and it even put me through college.

I’ve got some of the best life-lessons from this hobby and a wisdom that defies explanation. Now that I’m a little older, I’m honored to be able to pass these tidbits down to a younger generation and see what they can do with it to make the hobby even better.

Baseball cards are peace to me, and I can say that now with such a confidence, and a knowing and a sense of gratitude and appreciation that I’ve had the opportunity to be immersed in this hobby for nearly 40 years now.

So thank you to each and every one of you for allowing me to do this for you each week, for allowing me to tell a few stories, maybe even pass along some wisdom and knowledge about the hobby I love, and more than that, thank you for being a part of this amazing Nonsense Newsletter family.

I can’t wait to see just where it takes us in the future!
